1968 Morris Mini Cooper Mk.II in Island Blue

What a beauty this is, First registered 03/05/1968 Morris Mini Cooper Mk. II. Early Mini Coopers are some of the most sought after Minis ever produced and you are unlikely ever to see another in this condition. Fully restored at a cost of £40,000 to the previous owner, our Mk. II Cooper is absolutely stunning finished in the Morris Island Blue with contrasting white roof. Fully resprayed including the both the inside and underside of the floors, engine bay and boot area this stunning little Cooper is absolutely spotless- it really needs to be seen to be believed.

An absolute time portal back to when it was produced this Mini Cooper has been lovingly looked after by the previous owners who took it to a number of different shows whilst preserving its fantastic condition. The 998cc engine has twin SU carburettors and has a fantastic exhaust noise which inturn pulls very well. 4 speed straight cut gearbox as standard produces that classic ‘Mini whine’ which many have come to know and love. Front disc brakes and rear drums were unusual for a small car back in 1968 but provide great stopping power for a car of this age behind a set of 10” steel wheels with chrome trims. Front and rear overriders and chrome arch trim give a dash of shine to the exterior.

External door hinges, a hinged rear plate and sliding windows are some of the quirky little features which could only be found on the early Minis. The interior has a full set of black leatherette seats which are very comfortable. Joined by matching black door cards, grey speck headlining and the single centre binnacle this really is a very comfortable and stylish place to be.

The Mk.II Mini Cooper received a larger rear window than the previous model as well as an updated rear light cluster for better visibility to other drivers which really improves on the driving pleasure of this querky little motor. This is by far and away the best classic Mini we have ever seen in our 40 years of trading. Grab a piece of history whilst you still can. £35,000 with 12 months MOT and our 3 month/3,000 mile warranty as standard.
